7/14/2016

John's family has planned a memorial service to celebrate his life on August 14, 2016 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Gwinnett, 12 Bethesda Church Road, Lawrenceville, GA, 30044.  Details can be viewed at www.wagesfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family has listed 3 organizations that were close to John’s heart that donations may be made to in his honor.  AWARE, the Atlanta Wild Animal Rescue Effort, cares for injured or orphaned wildlife and provides education on habitat preservation.  Information can be found at www.awarewildlife.org.  Also, through the Georgia SPCA, you can donate money or sponsor an animal in John's name (www.georgiaspca.org).  Finally, the AALAS Foundation, which promotes educational outreach programs to inform the public about the good work that our industry does.  Donations can be made at www.aalasfoundation.org.

John Duktig, a current DVB AALAS member, passed away very suddenly Monday in the Atlanta Georgia area. John's first job in LAS was at the Wistar Institute. Mike Sidelsky hired him (like so many in our community whose careers started at Wistar). John went on to work at GSK and Wyeth before moving to Atlanta and a job at Yerkes, then to Speciality Operations, and he was currently managing the PCOM site on City Ave through Speciality
Operations Solutions. He touched so many lives in LAS over his career and will be very sadly missed.
He was immediate past president of the SEAALAS and was working on the AALAS Foundation All-Star Race contest this year.

SEAALAS is collecting notes from folks who would like to send in stories about John. Let me know if you want the address to send anything.

Feel free to post memories/stories about John.
