It is with a heavy heart that we have very sad news that Lisa Panchella passed away on Wednesday, January 15. Lisa had beaten cancer a couple of years ago, however, she had a recurrence last year, which she battled until she was unable to continue work in November.
Lisa was a conscientious, hard-working, dedicated mother and true friend. Lisa loved to work, enjoyed her job and loved being in compliance.
Lisa was an integral part of the DVB family. Lisa was involved in nominations, secretary, president and was our current DVB webmaster. No matter what Lisa was involved in, she gave 100% and always had the time to help someone.
Her dedication to service enabled the work of all who sought her help—researchers and administrators alike. Her professionalism and team focus are respected and acknowledged by her many colleagues and in the broader research compliance community. In addition, Lisa loved participating in all events, she was creative in her work, and her wit was unparalleled, even in the face of frustration.
We personally feel so privileged and grateful to have known her and worked with her. Her spirit was amazing and she left an impact with everyone she knew and worked with.
Lisa is survived by her husband Tom Panchella, her son Brayden, her parents and her siblings.
