American Protective Products Veterinarian of the Year Award

The American Protective Services Veterinarian of the Year Award, instituted in 2008, is offered for outstanding accomplishment by a veterinarian active in the DVB AALAS community.

Award

This award consists of a plaque and a $200 honorarium.

Nominee Qualifications & Criteria


To be eligible for nomination, the candidate must:


  • Be a laboratory animal veterinarian
  • Be an active DVB AALAS member in good standing
  • Demonstrate involvement in DVB AALAS
  • Demonstrate interest in the improvement of care, quality, and environment of animals used in biologic and medical research
  • Demonstrate contribution to and accomplishments for education, training, or animal care in the lab animal science field

Nomination Process


Nomination packet must include a letter of nomination and at least one seconding letter. The nomination letter must include:

  • Experience in laboratory animal science
  • Your number of years in the field, skills and knowledge of lab animal science
  • Educational background
  • Participation in DVB and National AALAS, ACLAM, etc.
  • Involvement in public education, teaching, or training
  • Contributions and/or accomplishments in the laboratory animal field
  • Contributions to improving the quality, standards, or techniques in the laboratory animal field
  • Recognition by peers as well as any awards or honors previously recognized for accomplishments in the field

Deadline for applications is May 1.
