
Animal Specialties And Provisions Technical Services Award
The Animal Specialties and Provisions Technical Services Award is presented to a person primarily responsible for the day-to-day technical care and handling of laboratory animals or whose responsibilities support the animal facility’s functioning.
Examples may include a person who is responsible for carrying out the duties of a study (dosing, weighing, necropsy, laboratory, etc.), a person who is primarily responsible for animal health (breeding, surgery, health monitoring/treatment), or a person whose activities are critical in the day-to-day functioning of the animal care program.
Nominee Qualifications & Criteria
To be eligible for nomination, the candidate must:
- Be a technician working in the field of laboratory animal science
- Have daily contact with laboratory animals, or provide laboratory support for research protocols and/or animal health programs
- Demonstrate positive and proactive attitude toward animal health and welfare
- Demonstrate pursuit of knowledge in the field of laboratory animal science
- Be a member in good standing of DVB AALAS
- AALAS or AHT certification is preferred but not mandatory
Nomination Process
A person from within DVB AALAS must nominate the candidate.
Deadline for applications is May 1.
