Purina Pro-Lab Award

The Purina Pro-Lab Award is presented to a person primarily responsible for laboratory animals' day-to-day husbandry.

Award

This award consists of a plaque and a $150 gift card. Additionally, Purina will donate $50 to the AALAS Foundation in the award recipient's name. 

Nominee Qualifications & Criteria

To be eligible for nomination, the candidate must:

• Have daily contact with animals of one or more species in the form of handling, feeding, watering, changing bedding, etc.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude toward animal welfare
• Demonstrate performance excellence
• Pursue knowledge in animal care (i.e, course work or formal training)
• Cite innovative approaches to animal husbandry-related problems

A copy of the recommendation letter should be sent to the Purina representative prior to the presentation. Supervisory responsibility and formal degrees are not important considerations for the award. All other considerations being equal, candidates with current membership in local or National AALAS will be selected.
