Bio-Serv Enhancement or Improvement of Animal Welfare Award
The Bio-Serv Enhancement or Improvement of Animal Welfare Award is presented to a person who has made a positive impact by enriching, enhancing, or improving the lives of animals or the environment in which they work regarding animal welfare.
Nominee Qualifications & Criteria
To be eligible for nomination, the candidate:
- Must have enriched the lives of the animals they work with
- Must have enhanced the living environment for the animal colonies they work with
- Must have positively impacted research and the morale of the animal care staff with improvements
- Must have displayed the 3Rs (Reduction, Refinement, and Replacement) in their plan for enhancement and improvement
- Must have reduced or eliminated distress or created other benefits for the animals they work with
- Does not need to be a member of DVB AALAS, but must be within the Delaware Valley area
