John Michael Barton, Sr., age 59, a lifelong resident of Great Meadows, New Jersey, died Monday, November 9, 2020, at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, New Jersey. John was born September 3, 1961 in Denville, New Jersey, to Elizabeth (nee-Mullen) Barton and the late James Joseph Barton.

John was the Owner of Barton’s West End Facilities, Great Meadows, New Jersey. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Joyce Kilmer Council #2483. In addition, John was an avid fisherman, hunter, and farmer. He enjoyed golfing and cooking and was an automobile enthusiast. Most of all, John loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl (Jones) Barton; his son, John Michael Barton, Jr. and wife Karen; his four daughters, Dr. Christine Barton, Colleen Mejia and husband Roger, Shannon Tyminski and husband Chris, and Jamie Barton; his mother, Elizabeth (Mullen) Barton; a brother, James Barton and wife Susan; two sisters, Maureen Dabkowski and husband Gerald “Jerry,” Katherine Scanlan and husband Daniel “Danny”; granddaughter, Isabella Rose Mejia; and two grandsons, Patrick Barton and Kieran Barton.
